Perception is a selection of abilities all related to your perception of the
world around you. A human, dwarf, Lamira, etc all naturally have certain
methods of perception and vision seeks to primarily increase your visual
acuity. Starting off with simple tricks of observation, Perception will
eventually give you the power of far-seeing, as well as the power to examine
your subconscious and profit thereby.
- Looking

Syntax: LOOK or L
A simple ability inherent in all visual beings.
- Glancing

Syntax: QL
A simple ability that is inherent.
- Secrets

Syntax: SECRETS
Using your perceptive powers, you will attempt to spot hidden exits from your
room. It should be noted that secret exits can be fairly difficult to spot, and
that you will often fail to find an exit with this ability.
- Squinting

Syntax: SQUINT (direction)
- Flyers

Syntax: FLYERS
If you use this ability while outdoors, you will gain information on those in
the skies above you.
- Observe

Syntax: OBSERVE
This will perform a QL on each location adjacent to yours, in quick succession.
An excellent way to ensure your surroundings are safe.
- Farsight

Syntax: FARSEE
Use this ability to locate players from afar.
- Vigilance

Syntax: VIGILANCE
At the cost of a regular mana drain, this will increase your chances of
noticing an insidious attempt to hypnotise you.
- Treewatch

Syntax: TREEWATCH ON/OFF
While this ability is active, it will, at the cost of a mana drain, alert you
to movement within the trees.
- Deathsight
-
Syntax: DEATHSIGHT, RELAX DEATHSIGHT
Using this ability, you will touch the mind of Thanatos, God of Death. While
doing so, you will be alerted whenever anyone dies.
- Pipelist

Syntax: PIPELIST
This command will give you detailed information concerning the pipes you
are holding.
- Elixlist

Syntax: ELIXLIST [(type)]
This will give you information on the various elixirs and salves that you may
be holding.
- Search

Syntax: SEARCH
Force those in your location to reveal themselves if hidden.
- Skywatch
-
Syntax: SKYWATCH ON/OFF
The counterpart to Treewatch, this will alert you to movement in the skies
above.
- Keylist
-
Syntax: KEYLIST
This ability will allow you to see a list of the keys in your inventory and
what doors, if any, they open. If you see a key that opens "an impossible
place" your key has likely become useless as concerns that lock.
- Alertness

Syntax: ALERTNESS ON/OFF
Your sense of hearing is heightened enough to allow you to detect movement in
adjacent locations.
- Rites

Syntax: RITES
This will allow you to view what holy rites are active in your location.
- Vibes
-
Syntax: VIBES or VIBRATIONS
This ability will show you what vibrations are in a room.
- Nightsight

Syntax: NIGHTSIGHT
You will gain the ability to see in normal darkness.
- Hypersight

Syntax: HYPERSIGHT ON/OFF
This will, at the cost of a regular drain of mana, permit you to see actions
normally concealed by certain abilities.
- Thirdeye

Syntax: THIRDEYE
This powerful ability will allow you to see everybody on the continent's
location when you do 'WHO', as well as provide you with limited detection of
some forms of invisibility.
- Tattoos

Syntax: TATTOOS (player)
This will allow you to gain certain information about the tattoos on another
player.
- Wormholes

Syntax: WORMHOLES
This ability will tell you if there is a wormhole in your location and where it
leads to.
- Rivensense
-
Usage: RIVENSENSE
With this skill, you can locate the bodies of those who have recently
perished.
- Contemplation
-
Syntax: CONTEMPLATE (player)
With this ability, you may see how much mana a player has.
- Scan
-
Syntax: SCAN ALLIES or SCAN ENEMIES
This skill will quite simply locate anyone on your enemy or ally list all
at once.
- Telesense
-
Syntax: TELESENSE
Though it drains mana, this ability will inform you when many telepathic
attempts are made on you or someone in your location.
- Appraise

Syntax: APPRAISE (player)
You may use this ability to gain information on an opponent's inventory.
- Trueassess
-
Syntax: TRUEASSESS (target)
This skill will give you the current health and mana of a target. It does
not take balance nor equilibrium, but it will require extensive mana.
- Warning
-
Syntax: WARNING (turns the defence on or off)
At a constant drain of mana this skill will notify you when anyone senses for
your location.
- Landsense
-
Syntax: LANDSENSE (ALL|ALLIES|ENEMIES|OFF)
At the cost of mana, this skill will allow you to see when mortals enter
the realms.

Survival is a skill that everyone receives. It deals with outdoors issues as
well as general survival issues. Abilities in it include being able to swim,
climb trees, attack dimensional wormholes, heal your limbs by force of will
alone, and many other useful abilities.
- Swimming

Usage: SWIM (direction)
A person who trains their body in survival methods, will learn how to
swim through the waters of Aetherius.
- Surveying

Syntax: SURVEY
You've learned the lay of the land enough to be able to determine some basic
information about your surroundings from a simple glance.
- Treading
-
With Treading, you are able to stay in one place in the water without fear of
drowning.
- Perceive

Usage: Perceive
Groves have been formed throughout the woods of Aetherius as a form of
link between some people and nature itself. As one progresses the study
of surviving in Aetherius, one may learn how to detect this subtle
difference and even know who has marked this spot.
- Assessing
-
Syntax: ASSESS (player)
You've now gained the ability to see the health of another player by evaluating
the seriousness of his wounds.
- Hearing
-
Syntax: HEARING
Instantly restores your hearing.
- Dousing
-
Syntax: FILL BUCKET WITH WATER, DOUSE FIRE
With this ability, you may fill a bucket with water in any watery location, and
then, while standing in a burning location, douse the fires that rage.
- Diagnose
-
Syntax: DIAGNOSE ME or DIAG ME
With this ability, you may check and see a list of what ails you.
- Sewers
-
Syntax: ENTER GRATE
Dotted around the streets of cities are sewer grates, leading to the sewer
system of that city. This ability will allow you access to that foul area, but
be warned that many unsavoury characters reside there.
- Satiation
-
Syntax: SATIATION
By using this ability, you will begin to concentrate on processing your food
more efficiently. After activating it, you'll have a short period during which
to eat some food.
- FluidSwim
-
Once you have gained this ability, you will be able to swim constantly without
fear of health loss due to drowning.
- MetaWake
-
Syntax: METAWAKE ON/OFF
Though it will quickly drain your mana, turning metawake on will ensure that
you will quickly wake up if put to sleep.
- Tumbling
-
Syntax: TUMBLE (direction)
Your body is agile enough that you are able to escape nearly any predicament by
tumbling out of the room. Be warned though that tumbling is not the swiftest
method of moving and that furthermore, you will lose your entourage and perhaps
some defences while doing this.
- Crashing
-
Syntax: CRASH (direction)
Using this ability, you will be able to crash through obstructing undergrowth
in the forests. You will not lose your entourage with this ability.
- WormAttack
-
Syntax: WORM CANCEL
To use this ability, you must first possess the ability Wormholes in
Perception.
Using this ability, you may attack a wormhole and attempt to destroy it. Once
you start the process, you must finish it without executing any commands, or
you will have to start over. It is not a short process at all, as it is an
extremely complicated thing to close a dimensional wormhole.
- Felling

Syntax: CHOP TREE
If you are wielding an axe, you can take a swing at one of the mighty trees
that Arboreals plant and protect.
The trees can be very sturdy, and it will require many swings before you will
be able to fell the tree.
- Recovery
-
Your body is now strong enough to survive the rigours of using the Tree
of Life tattoo far more often than before.
- Selfishness
-
Syntax: SELFISHNESS, GENEROSITY
With this ability, you may cause yourself to become so selfish that you can't
give away a thing.
- Clotting
-
Syntax: CLOT
This will permit you to partially clot your bleeding.
- Insomnia
-
Syntax: INSOMNIA
This ability will allow you to give yourself insomnia - a useful defence
against being put to sleep involuntarily.
- Swinging
-
Syntax: SWING UP, SWING DOWN
When in a forest location, you will be able to swing up into the trees.
- Shaking
-
Syntax: SHAKE TREES
By using this ability, you will be able to try and shake people loose who
might be hiding up in the trees.
- Clinging
-
Syntax: CLING
Such is your knowledge of the outdoors and so comfortable are you in the trees,
that you are able to cling tightly onto them, maintaining your balance when in
them, even if the branches should be greatly disturbed by wind or sinister
persons.
- Restoration
-
Syntax: RESTORE
By channeling mental power into healing, you can heal any broken limbs you may
have at one time.
- Breathing
-
Syntax: HOLD BREATH
By holding your breath, you will gain short-term immunity from anything doing
asphyxiation damage.
- Curseward
-
Syntax: CURSEWARD
This ability will let you erect a mental barrier against which curses will
splash harmlessly.
- Focusing
-
Syntax: FOCUS
Your mental survival skills have adapted to the point where you can cure mental
afflictions merely by focusing your mind. Be warned though that the mana cost
for this is high.

Weaponry is a skill that everyone acquires. Although anyone may use any weapon
in Imperian, those untrained in weaponry, and without proficiency in that
weapon, will find it difficult to be effective with it.
- Proficiencies
-
With this ability, you will find yourself able to specialise in specific
weapons, such as the longsword, broadsword, javelin, halberd, flail, and many
others.
- Targetting
-
Syntax: TARGET (head/torso/left arm/right arm/left leg/right leg/nothing)
With this ability, you will be able to target specific body parts on your
opponent. Because this requires more precise timing on your part, the sheer
damage you can do is reduced. However, by battering these body parts with
either edged or blunt weapons, you can cause damage to them that is more
difficult to cure than simple broken bones. For instance, an limb may be able
to be beaten into uselessness, which requires a restoration salve to fix (and
which does not get fixed immediately). Attacks to the torso will produce
internal bleeding, while attacks to the head will produce a concussion. TARGET
NOTHING will turn targetting off.
- Weapon Probe

Syntax: WP/WPROBE/WEAPONPROBE (item)
Using this ability, you will be able to see what venoms or magical effects have
been put on an item, and, if it is a weapon, get a general idea of how much
damage it can cause, how awkward it is, and how quickly you could use it.
- Parry
-
Syntax: PARRY (head/torso/left arm/right arm/left leg/right leg)
To use this ability, you must have a weapon capable of parrying wielded. It
allows you to automatically stop any physical attack directed specifically at
that body part.
- Decapitate
-
Syntax:
DECAPITATE (corpse)
PIKE (head)
Provided you have an edged weapon in one of your hands, you will be able to
decapitate a corpse. You may then do whatever you like with the head, including
buying a pike and then PIKEing the head. Note that heads, being organic matter,
do not tend to stick around too long, and if put on a pike, the pike will also
decay away when the head does.
- Envenom

Syntax:
ENVENOM (weapon) with (toxin)
ENVENOM (amount) ARROWS WITH (toxin)
WIPE (weapon)
With this ability, you may layer toxins on an edged weapon. Each time that
weapon hits somebody, one toxin will poison your opponent, and disappear from
the weapon. They work on a last-on, first-off basis, so if you put aspartame on
a weapon, and then put cyanide on, the cyanide would come off first, and the
aspartame second. You must have the selected toxin in a vial in your inventory.
In order to get rid of the toxins on a weapon, simply WIPE (weapon).
- Throwing
-
You have now gained skill enough to drastically improve your chances of hitting
an opponent with a thrown weapon.
- Target Throw
-
Your eagle eye and throwing ability now enable you to throw not just at a
target, but at a specific body part on a person. Use the TARGETTING ability in
conjunction with this.
- Shatter
-
Syntax: SHATTER (left/right) (arm/leg) (player)
While wielding a blunt weapon, this ability will allow you to deal out an
extraordinary amount of limb damage to the chosen limb, as well as some health
damage. It's used as a normal weapon, so the better quality the weapon, the
more effective this ability is. Proficiencies are not taken into account for
this ability.
- Behead

Syntax: BEHEAD (unlucky target)
Once you have an opponent prone (which, for our purposes, includes being on the
ground, tied up in any way, paralysed, sleeping, frozen, or otherwise unable to
move), you may, if you are wielding a sword, try to behead him. Simply BEHEAD
(target) and wait a few seconds. If your opponent is still in the room when you
are ready to finish the beheading, he will die, and his head will be seperated
from his body.

It has been discovered by scholars of Aetherius that tattoos are replicas
of symbols blessed by the Divine themselves. When sketching one of these
symbols, the artist is drawing upon the essence of the Divine which inhabits
the very air we breathe. The essence is projected into the tattoos, empowering
them with the abilities associated with each image.
